Objectives
- Further the understanding of migraine as a brain disease, and be able to identify the clinical features to improve accuracy of diagnosis
- Apply knowledge of available and upcoming acute therapies and how to treat to improve patient outcomes
- Create a practical and individualized approach to preventative treatment, including the newer targeted therapies now available in Canada

Dr. Christine Lay is a Professor of Neurology and the founding director of the Headache Program at the University of Toronto, where she holds the Deborah Ivy Christiani Brill Chair for in Neurology. She completed her residency at Mayo Clinic and her Headache fellowship at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City. In addition to directing and growing the Headache program at U of T, and a very busy patient practice, she is actively involved in research and teaching, and directs the Canadian Headache Society Fellowship program at UofT. She is actively engaged in advocacy and education, serving as the Vice Chair of the American Migraine Foundation, and is a board member of the American Headache Society, chairing the annual AHS Scottsdale Headache Symposium.
