Rebecca Colman is a respirologist and palliative care physician at Sinai Health System & the University Health Network in Toronto and an Assistant Professor in the divisions of Respirology and Palliative Medicine at UofT. She trained in respirology, completed clinical fellowships in lung transplantation and palliative medicine, and went on to complete a masters degree in Quality Improvement and Patient Safety through the Institute for Health Policy Management and Evaluation, all at UofT.
Her focus is on improving quality of life for patients with end-stage lung disease through work in the lung transplant program and in program development in palliative and supportive management for patients with non-malignant disease.
Her three kids, ages 4, 6 and 8, have a deep appreciation for the dangers of smoking, the value of organ donation, and the importance of early palliative care interventions and high quality end-of-life care.
