Objectives
- Review Vaccinations in Adolescents
- Discuss the importance of adherence to immunization schedules and how to deal with vaccine hesitancy
- Discuss the role of Family Physicians and other Health Care Professionals in promoting vaccines provided by publicly funded programs and recommended and unfunded vaccines (RUV).

Rupesh Chawla M.D, M.Sc, F.R.C.P.C
Dr. Rupesh Chawla M.D, M.Sc, F.R.C.P.C completed his Paediatric Infectious Disease Clinical Fellowship at The Alberta Children’s Hospital and then went on to complete a Masters in Community Health and a Research Fellowship in Paediatric Infectious Disease. Dr. Chawla joined the Paediatric Infectious Diseases team at the Alberta Children’s Hospital in Calgary, Alberta in July of 2002. Dr. Chawla from July 2012 to July 2018, was Program Director for the Paediatric Infectious Diseases Residency Program at the Alberta Children’s Hospital. On October 1st, 2019, he moved to become staff at the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital in Saskatoon. He is the head of antimicrobial stewardship for the JPCH.
