J Alberto Neder MD, PhD, DSc, FRCP(C), FERS
Dr Neder is a respirologist (1992) with a Ph.D. in clinical respiratory physiology (1995). After two post-doctoral experiences in London and Glasgow, UK (1997-2002), he was the Head of the Respiratory Division of the Federal University in Sao Paulo, Brazil up to 2012. He subsequently accepted the positions of Professor and Medical Director of the Laboratories of Clinical Exercise Physiology and Pulmonary Function Tests at Queen’s University, Kingston, ON. His main clinical and teaching interests include COPD, COPD-Heart Failure overlap, respiratory physiology and pathophysiology, and dyspnea of unclear origin. He has published more than 250 peer-reviewed papers on these topics, acting in several international committees for the standardization of pulmonary function and cardiopulmonary exercise testing applied to the care of patients with chronic cardiorespiratory diseases.
