Assistant Professor, Department of Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences, University of Manitoba
Dr. Black did her medical school and residency training in Ob/Gyn at the University of Manitoba.
She has worked much of her career with marginalized women in the inner city, and has worked with the Manitoba HIV team as their Ob/Gyn consultant. She has also served as director of the post-graduate residency training program in Ob/Gyn, and has been an examiner with the Royal College.
These twilight days in her career are spent practicing part-time and educating and advocating full-time. Priorities include mentoring and assisting younger colleagues with their ongoing education, promotion of excellence in practice through continued education, and advocating for evidence based (not fear based) women’s health practices.
