As President and CEO of Humber River Hospital she has overseen the establishment of two Reactivation Care Centres, one at each of the two legacy sites. Reactivation care is a focus program to maximize the health of our senior patients as they return to home or a long term care facility, and is a partnership programs with 8 GTA acute care hospitals. Currently under construction is a 320-bed long-term care facility at the Finch Avenue site scheduled to open in Fall 2022.
Barbara’s commitment to high reliability care and academic mission for hospital and community has led to the development of the North West Toronto Ontario Health Team of which Barbara is a co-chair.
